Being a sucker for all things that smell divine ,had to post about perfumes that use the most luxurious and the rarest ingredients. living in dubai , one is surrounded by the most exotic smells and its such a treat!! one smell that i cant get out of my mind is the smell of OUD...oh!how i love that smell..it just evokes a sense of mystery!!! some of the most luxurious scents are listed below. and they all actually smell good! Even if i cant buy all of them, living in this city ,surrounded by people who are so conscious of using the most expensive perfumes out there ,one tends to sample them all!!!

the ARMANI PRIVE LA FEMME BLEUE , is the most luxurious scent of GIORGIO ARMANI'S collection so far. priced at $600 ,only 1000 bottles are available and only 170 in dubai!!!it flew off the shelves in an hour am sure....this perfume has the rare BLACK IRIS that leaves a sensual woody aroma!

Recognized as the worlds most expensive perfume ,this no1 perfume spray is from the British perfume house CLIVE CHRISTIAN. It is a sophisticated perfume made from the rarest and the finest ingredients. this company was granted the use of the crown design of QUEEN VICTORIA as a mark of exellance and quality

CREED WHITE FLOWERS IS Created by the french perfumer OLIVER CREED who travels the world to hand pick the ingredients and hand blends them using the infusion technique. its priced at $575.

oy Baccarat Pure Parfum, Limited Edition

TRIED & TESTED: MASCARAS!

Haven't we all tried a million mascaras to achieve that false eyelash look, (at least we have) and never found the perfect mascara without trying a number of products. over the years we have bought so many mascaras they r actually still lying in the basket , because it seems unfair to throw those away after spending so much cash on them. here are our TRIED & TESTED mascaras:

LANCOME HYPNOSE DOLL EYES mascara is the latest offering from the hypnoses range that claims to give you that 60's doll like lashes. we tried it and found that although it does extend the lashes, it fails at volumizing and curling the lashes. the volume and curl can be achieved by applying several coats. having a cone tipped brush helped in coating the inner most lashes and that was a plus point

the GIVENCHY PHENOMEN EYES MASCARA looks funny at the first due to its funny ball like wand but its a patented round sphere at the tip of the precision wand that separates every lash. have to admit ,we tried it for that innovative ball like tip. the result being its good if u want nice fanned out lashes  but it takes a while to get the hang of it.

THE DIOR SHOW MASCARA....love love it.....gives u thick black voluminous lashes!!!huge fan of that look!so this one of our favorites. 

P.S :always always curl the lashes with the uber cool SHU UEMURA eyelash CURLER. 

TOD'S SIGNATURE COLLECTION!

Having a pair of TOD'S driving shoes is a must have in every fashionistas shoe closet! and ever since TOD'S unveiled their collection of bags few years ago,we have been in love with almost all their bags. they have  a very subtle and a discerning quality to them! now they have come up with a signature collection of leather goods for autumn - winter and will be available at TOD'S store this month. 

Developed from the iconography of the famous GOMMINO sole ,this new collection of bags and accessories incorporates the pebble motif on the soles of their shoes into the bags. they have embossed the pattern that is on the soles of their driving shoes onto the bags to achieve a signature look, a logo of sorts.

FIERCE AND MAD FASHION AT THE 2011 VMA'S

This years Mtv Video Music Awards had a black carpet and the stars descended on it in the most fiercest outfits!!! Guess they are trying to follow in the foot steps of the fiercest fashionista ever, Lady GAGA...some were wow!thats wicked..the others..wow!is she for real??!!!...take a look

Teen star Selena Gomez channeling the goth look minus the make up in a lace cut out asymmetrical JULIEN McDONALD gown and BRIAN ATWOOD pumps. Its a nice change for Selena.

Beyonce stunned all with her pregnancy news and this hot tangerine LANVIN gown, baubles by LORRAINE SCHWARTZ and shoes by RENE CAOVILLA.

Kimmi ,fresh from her Italian honey moon was as usual in her signature body hugging plunge dress...it was a rather boring look...its a KAUFMAN FRANCO metallic gown n was dripping in LORRAINE SCHWARTZ jewels n her ostrich egg sized engagement ring!!!

never the one to shy away from dressing comical..Katy Perry channeled her inner geisha with lavender hair in a ATELIER VERSACE mini and hot pink JIMMY CHOO'S and completed the look with a parasol!!!

a rather BLAH look for Britney Spears dressed in a MOSCHINO mini and peep toe platform boots.

we find Katie Holmes a rather pretentious dresser!!sorry Katie fans..but thats our opinion!in simple words ,she looks funny!

Kelly Rowland looks stunning in a feathered FALGUNI AND SHANE PEACOCK creation(very proud to see indian designers making it)....its perfect for the VMA'S

thats Nicki Minaj underneath that pile of dunno what..for a second we thought that it was some kind of a comic art installation...but then again thats Nicki Minaj for you..a talking,rapping,eyes rolling ....art installation.....

KATE MIDDLETON, THE NEW QUEEN OF STYLE!

Kate Middleton has been crowned the queen of style by the readers of hello magazine! initially we weren't that enamored by her style..but over time we think she has fitted into the shoes of the duchess beautifully. she hasn't tried to upstage the original queen of style princess Di , and we love that about her. she has been receiving flak for recycling her wardrobe and thats not fair. she is doing a great job whilst at it and is mixing  her wardrobe cleverly!!! here are some of the looks that she recycled:

Kate paired her Smythe navy blazer with a Roland Mouret sheath dress and a Mulberry bag while  boarding a flight to Canada and a few days later teamed the blazer with a ruffled top and J Brand jeans.

Kate wore this kelly green DVF dress with a printed DVF clutch at an L.A party and later wore it for Zara Philips's pre-wedding bash.

She wore this famous Reiss dress in her engagement portrait in 2010 and it just flew off the racks. she later wore it on her canadian tour and teamed it with a red fascinator and a quirky red clutch.

Kate Middleton won the approval many fashion critics during her first official tour as a duchess by wearing some very elegant pieces. some of our favorites:

BYZANTIUM REVERIE!!!

When we came across chanel's collection inspired by the opulence of the byzantine era...we were just awestruck.....just looking at the pieces made us feel like we were in the bygone era swirling in the beautiful creations against the backdrop of the beautiful bosphorus and the ottoman palaces!!!

this collection saw the coming together of great artisans to make these beautiful pieces. with karl lagerfeld's vision ,Desrues the costume jeweler,Lemarie the feather specialist,jean-francois lesage the embroider(btw this man stays in chennai,my uncle knows him n am gonna meet him soon..(brag..brag..:))...,michel the milliner,goosens the goldsmith and guillet the floral accessory specialist....got together and made these wonderful creations!!!

THE MOST EXPENSIVE SHOE!!!!

Guiseppe Zanotti in collaboration with Chopard unveiled the worlds most expensive shoes(they cost a whopping $180,000) at Cannes!!!! they are a pink concoction of candy pink satin,82 briolette 22.21 cts of diamonds,60 briolette 134.84 ct rubelites,514 briolette cut 199.98 ct pink sapphires and 62 brilliant rubies set in an 18kt rose gold chain!!! will definitely give the wearer twinkle toes!!!but seriously we'd rather have the string of the briolette cut stones around our neck rather than our than our ankles!!!

MACAROONS THAT ARE CALORIE FREE!!!!

THE KENZO MACAROON BAGS!!!!HOW DELISH ARE THEY????? may we have them in all colours please........

they come in six colours i think and two printed versions...totally digging the floral print one. but we love them all....it would go with an indian outfit too...i think the emerald green embroidered one would look great with a gorgeous AbuJani-SandeepKhosla off white sari and a also a beautiful valentino nude lace shift dress!!!!

it would add lil quirkiness to a day outfit too by just slinging it across!!!

peter pan collar!

i'd insist on buying peter pan collared dresses for my 3year old daughter coz she looked adorable in them and then i saw the revival of this adorable collar pattern on the fall winter 2011/12 runway shows!!!! they look fab on older people too!!!!love love love!!!!i first remember seeing agynessdeyn wearing the look..but somehow it dint come off right so i thought it was a silly look....

but then i saw that my darling giambattista valli,LV,DKNY and many other designers used them in their collections and i suddenly saw hope!!!!they made the collar look so stylish n not cutesy types!!!

celebrities like alexa chung and carey mulligan have been doing it for a while....and now celebs like hailee steinfeld, michelle williams ,emma watson,emma roberts and others r embracing this look so stylishly!!!

but i love the detachable collars and i saw them on asos.com and miu miu makes these furry collars(am not sure if i'd brave that) ...and also the collar like necklaces i saw at topshop!!! u can just update any top with the addition of an interesting collar!!!we r definitely channeling this look for this A/W...

CHANEL BOY!!!

After seeing them on the runway of the channel fall-winter  2011/12 collection,we fell in love with them instantly!!!how chic r they???the trademark quilting is missing but they do have the signature chain strap and its refreshing to see a different lock on the bag! its apparently inspired by a hunters cartridge bag that coco chanel used to carry and named after the big love of her life ,Boy Capel!!!

AFTER SO MANY TRIALS AND ERRORS WE HAVE FINALLY NARROWED DOWN OUR BEAUTY MUST HAVES TO A FEW PRODUCTS.  BUT BEING PRODUCT JUNKIES WE END UP TRYING EVERYTHING THATS NEW IN THE MARKET EVEN THOUGH WE KNOW THESE PRODUCTS WORK FOR US.

FOR THE PERFECT BASE, TO GIVE U A VERY NICE DEWY GLOW ,WE RECOMMEND THE SHISEIDO MAKEUP SMOOTHING VEIL. USE IT ALONE OR UNDER YOUR FOUNDATION. WORKS WONDERS FOR US. BUT BE SURE TO USE LESS. WE DONT USE A FOUNDATION THIS PRODUCT TAKES CARE OF IT.
ALTHOUGH AFTER TRYING MANY FOUNDATIONS I FOUND THE GIORGIO ARMANI  LUMINOUS SILK FOUNDATION THE BEST. BUT SADLY THEY HAVE VERY FEW SHADES TO SUIT THE YELLOW UNDERTONES OF INDIAN SKIN TONE

NOW FOR THE BLUSH. IF YOU LIKE PEACHY SHADES(ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT PINK WAS THE ONLY COLOUR FOR A BLUSH TILL I TRIED THIS)..TRY SHEERTONE SHIMMER BLUSH IN SHADE:PEACH TWIST

HOW CAN I FORGET THE CONCEALER !!!ITS YSL TOUCHE ECLAT THAT WINS HANDS DOWN(THIS IS ONE PRODUCT THAT WILL ALWAYS BE IN OUR BEAUTY BASKET)

AND FINALLY FOR THAT GORGEOUS GLOW ON YOUR FACE TOP IT OFF WITH THE BOBBI BROWN SHIMMER BRICK COMPACT IN PINK!!!
